Measurement Services

Planning, implementation, evaluation - We offer everything from partial to complete solutions for your measurement campaigns.

Calibration of N/A-Models

Motivation

Connecting new drainage areas to a sewer network or generally changing surroundings result in an increasing flow rate in the duct system. This changes the working conditions for all connected pumping stations, special-purpose facilities and sewage plants.

Our Services for You

You want to know what it looks like inside your sewer network?
You need up-to-date and reliable flow rates for the calibration of a hydraulic model?
You want to find out about the weak spots in your duct system?
You want to check the efficiency and functionality of your special-purpose facilities?

We provide a reliable data base for your projects.

Planning

  • Determining the number of measuring points (Of course, in coordination with you!)
  • Visiting the measuring spots in order to estimate hydraulic boundary conditions; on this basis we choose appropriate sites and techniques for the measurement.
  • Establishing an exact schedule for the measurement campaign.

Execution

  • Arranging measurement spots (for the measurement of flow and precipitation)
  • On-the-spot checks, readouts and calibration measurements of data retrieval devices
  • Optional online retrieval of data
  • An interim analysis is conducted so as to be able to react directly to any event.
  • Dismantling of measurement devices after accomplishment of objectives
  • Conducting a summarizing analysis and evaluation; presentation of data
  • Final discussion
  • Export of measured values (CSV, DVWK, MD)

Detection of Extraneous Water

Motivation

Extrenous water is a problem well-known and debated among experts. Larger quantities of extrenous water result in

  • Increased operating costs for pumping stations and the treatment of waste water
  • A decreased efficiency of the the treatment of waste water
  • More frequently filled rainwater basins; longer voiding times
  • Hydraulic overload of sewers and sewage plants

This leads to tangibly negative effects for the waters.

Our Services for You

We provide a solid data base (measurement of flow in the sewer system combined with measurement of precipitation, detection of extraneous water) for the development of a remedial design and optimization strategies.

Planning

  • Determining the number of measuring points and locations on the basis of sewer network plans (Of course, in coordination with you!)
  • Visiting the measuring spots in order to estimate hydraulic boundary conditions; on this basis we choose appropriate sites and techniques for the measurement.
  • Establishing an exact schedule for the measurement campaign

Execution

  • Arranging measurement spots (for the measurement of flow and precipitation)
  • On-the-spot checks, readouts and calibration measurements of data retrieval devices
  • Optional online-retrieval of data
  • An interim analysis is conducted so as to be able to react directly to any event.
  • Dismantling of measurement devices after accomplishment of objectives
  • Conducting a summarizing analysis and evaluation; presentation of data
  • Final discussion

Surveillance of Discharge Facilities

Process Optimization of Pumping Stations

Motivation

During the often long lifecycles of pumping stations, their operation conditions change: worn or damaged rotors decrease suction capacities of the pumps; freshly connected new drainage areas increase the flow rate.

Our Services for You

You want to know the state of affairs of your pumping station?
You need the up-to-date output and characteristic lines of your pumps?
You want to find out about the weak spots in your duct system, channel network or pumping station?
What about your pump management? Are your pumps in action more that 10-15 time per hour?

By measuring the working times of your pumps and the flow in the penstocks, we provide a solid data base for the development of a remedial design and optimization strategies for your pumping stations.

Planning

  • Determining the pumping stations and parameters to be monitored (Of course, in coordination with you!)
  • Visiting the pumping stations in order to estimate hydraulic boundary conditions; on this basis we choose appropriate techniques for the measurement.
  • Establishing an exact schedule for the measurement campaign

Execution

  • Arranging measurement spots
  • On-the-spot checks, readouts and calibration measurements of data retrieval devices
  • Optional online-retrieval of data
  • An interim analysis is conducted so as to be able to react directly to any event.
  • Dismantling of measurement devices after accomplishment of objectives
  • Conducting a summarizing analysis and evaluation; presentation of data
  • Final discussion

Capturing the Wastewater Temperature

Motivation

Energy is a valuable resource. Every day, large quantities of „warm“ wastewater flow through our sewers towards purification plants – unused.
But we live in times that ask for energy efficiency and alternative sources of energy; a complimentary source of energy such as this should not remain unused.

Our Services for You

You want to put your wastewater to further use?
You want to know if this could be financially worthwhile?
You need solid values regarding flow rates and water temperature for the design of heat exchangers?
You want to know the location of energy sources in your channel system?

With the measurement of flow and wastewater temperatur, we provide a solid data base for your projects.

Planning
